Our PURPOSE: To connect to God through praise and worship; to connect to one another in ways that will equip us to more faithfully follow Jesus; and to connect to our world in order to share God’s love through ministry and evangelism.

Our MISSION: Connecting people in our community to Jesus and equipping them to become His fully devoted followers.

Our CORE VALUES: As we live together in Christian community, we are people who highly value the following:

Intimacy with God We cherish connecting to Jesus in relationship so that He can live through us. Prayer and worship are divine gifts that allow us to celebrate this relationship. (John 15:15, 1 Corinthians 1:9, 1 Philippians 4:4-7, Thessalonians 5:16-18)

The Importance of People We demonstrate love for God by loving people and will not allow our structures or traditions to get in the way of our connecting with the people in our mission field. (Matthew 28:18-20, John 13:34, John 15:12, Colossians 2:8, 1 John 4:19)

The Priority of Relationships Since discipleship best occurs within the context of intimate and trusting relationships, we value finding ways to connect people to small groups for study, support, accountability, and service. (Matthew 18:20, Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:25)

Receiving God’s Word for Life Transformation We treasure our encounters with the Bible as engaging opportunities for people to discover how God’s connects to their daily lives, empowering them toward life transformation. (2 Timothy 2:16)

The Participation of All Believers in Ministry We tear down walls that disconnect us from one another so that we can work together as partners making a positive difference in our world through effective team ministries. (Acts 2:17-18, Galatians 3:27-28, Colossians 3:11, I Timothy 4:12)

Visionary Leadership We value being a courageous church led by visionary people who think and act in ways that help us connect to our world and advance God’s Kingdom. We aim to identify, encourage, and develop such leaders. (Romans 12:8, Ephesians 4:11-12)

Compassionate Service We reflect the passion Christ by demonstrating compassion for all people. We do this by connecting to others in ways that improve their lives (especially those who are poor and disadvantaged). (Matthew 19:21, Luke 14:13, Romans 12:13, Galatians 5:14)

Growth We value the growth comes as the result of fulfilling God’s purpose and mission. Our vision statement and strategic planning will continuously anticipate such growth and challenge us to be intentional about connecting to unbelievers in our area and leading them into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:41, 47, Acts 4:4, Acts 5:14, Acts 9:31, Acts 9:42)

We see a brand new day on the horizon!

We see a brand new day when we will be connecting to thousands of people in our community, sharing with them the message of Jesus Christ, with many of them trusting Jesus to be their Savior.

We see a brand new day when those who trust Jesus will be connected to thriving small groups where they will be equipped to be His followers.

We see a brand new day when those who follow Jesus among us will multiply rapidly by connecting to our community and beyond through compassionate service and witness.

We see a new day when our mission territory will expand across metro-Richmond and around the world.

We see a brand new day when our church will connect to every language and culture group in our area, reflecting the meaning of Pentecost when the Apostles told the story of Jesus and it was heard and received by people from every culture and language present.

We see a brand new day when we partner with other churches and ministries who share our vision because we know that together we can do more than we could alone.
We see a brand new day. It is a dream, but it is more than just a dream. It is a God inspired vision. It is a thrilling mental picture of how things will be as we live out God mission for His church. It is a statement of faith about who we are becoming as Jesus expresses His life through us. For this reason, we joyfully give all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, with confidence that the Holy Spirit can make this vision a reality.
